This course is certified by the United Kingdom CPD Certification Service, and may be applicable to individuals who are members of, or are associated with, UK-based professional bodies. The course has an estimated 50 hours of learning.

Course founder

Lane Greene

Language columnist, The Economist

Lane Greene writes the “Johnson” column on language for the newspaper. Prior to this, he was deputy books and arts editor. He has also covered culture, European business, law, energy, the environment and American politics. Lane is the author of two books on language, "Talk on the Wild Side" and "You Are What You Speak", and won the journalism award from the Linguistic Society of America in 2017. He is a former adjunct assistant professor in global affairs at New York University, and a consultant to Freedom House, a non-governmental organisation. He received an MPhil from the University of Oxford in European politics, and a BA with honours from Tulane University in international relations and history. Lane also speaks nine languages.
