Syracuse University’s Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited online Master of Social Work program prepares you to sit for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) licensing examination.
Depending on your chosen concentration area, you will be prepared to take the exam to become a licensed master social worker (LMSW) or a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).
You will choose between our two online MSW degree concentrations to prepare you to pursue licensure in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Our placement team will help you secure real-world experience that aligns with your goals and is located in your community.
Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) concentration
For those who wish to become mental health clinicians and practice as licensed clinical social workers.
Advanced Integrated Practice (AIP) concentration
For those who wish to pursue direct practice and leadership in a wide range of increasingly complex human service organizations.

Traditional MSW
Designed for aspiring social workers with a bachelor’s degree in a different area of study. Graduate in as few as 36 months.
Advanced Standing MSW
Designed for those who have a bachelor’s degree in an area related to social work. Graduate in as few as 24 months.
