When you graduate from an ALA-accredited program, you gain flexibility in the types of libraries and jobs you can apply for and enhance your career mobility. Many employers in the industry require an ALA-accredited master's degree for professional-level positions, and some states require an ALA-accredited degree from anyone interested in working as a professional librarian in a public or school library.
