LaToya Trowers-Bell, EdD, MBA

Program Director, Assistant Professor

Dr. Trowers-Bell is skilled at designing, coordinating, and providing the best practices and procedures for teaching and learning Healthcare Management principles. Dr. Trowers-Bell is a published author with many years of Healthcare Management experience working in administration and a consultant in areas such as Cardiology, Clinical Outreach, Neurosurgery, and Neuro-Ophthalmology. Dr. Trowers-Bell is the recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award for Outstanding Teaching and Student Appreciation and the Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Daniel Ehlke, PhD

Term Lecturer

For the past thirteen years, Daniel Ehlke, PhD has taught courses in health policy, health advocacy, and comparative health at SUNY-Downstate School of Public Health in Brooklyn, New York. There he won the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. His research interests include health reform episodes and market mechanisms within the context of government-run health care programs like Medicare. He is a 2009 doctoral graduate of Brown University in Political Science, and earned his BA (2001) in Government and History from the College of William & Mary. Outside of health policy, Dr. Ehlke is an avid weather enthusiast.

Callie Watkins Liu, PhD

Director of JEDI Education and Programs

Dr. Callie Watkins Liu is an intersectional and critical race scholar-activist, dedicated to research and collaborations that prioritize social justice and center the socially vulnerable. Her expertise in social movements, social policy, urban planning, global development (especially Latin America and Africa), conflict resolution and social psychology equip her to navigate between theory and lived experiences; understand social problems, and identify interventions. Dr. Watkins Liu’s work challenges power inequities and supports social justice oriented systems, structures and practices.
